Taking the Leap: Why I Started This Shop

For years, I’ve been quietly creating things stitched from forgotten fabrics, crochet pieces made from leftover yarn, little treasures born from remnants most would toss aside. I shared them at craft fayres, where I could talk to people face-to-face, tell the stories behind each piece, and see their reactions in real time. It was personal, grounding, and joyful.
But something kept nudging me. I wanted to reach further. I wanted to show that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a way of seeing beauty in what’s already here. So I took the leap and opened this online shop. Many people at the fayres had asked me about whether I sold online and of course the answer was no, always finding an excuse.

It’s scary, putting your work out into the world like this. There’s vulnerability in saying, “I made this. I believe in it. I hope you will too.” But there’s also power. Because every item I make carries meaning—not just in the materials I choose, but in the names I give them. I mention this in my Who I Am section on the website that each bag is or will be named after someone who’s shaped my journey, whether they’re still with me or live on in memory. It’s my way of honouring connection, love, and the threads that hold us together.
I also embroider, I enjoy making patchwork and using yarn remnants or oddballs of yarn by crocheting. I find it therapeutic and crochet watching tv or travelling. Using odd yarn reminds me that even the smallest balls can become something beautiful.
This shop isn’t just about selling—it’s about storytelling. It’s about creating with intention, and sharing the belief that handmade things, stitched from memory and care, can carry more than just function. They can carry feeling.
Thank you for being here and please return to see the items available - just need to get photographing now! Whether you’re browsing, buying, or simply curious, your presence means more than you know.
